London Calling
My sister Kathy in Portland does "body work" with a healer that works on the energy in connecting tissue - helping people rid themselves of emotional/physical trauma. With her work ( this is her second job) has come a family of disciples and a very full life. So, when she actually dropped me a two sentence note on May 2 I was amazed. She told me she dreamed of me walking in London... Two hours later (I had logged in to get email before driving to the campus) on the phone with a co-worker in Zurich, who mentions a job opening, unposted, in London, and as she recaps the job description I express an interest. (I realize - with more details- I am perfect for the job. ) She sends it over- the wheels start to turn and here we are. Not a month later, and I have an offer to relocate to London, with my family including Lucky, and live for two years. Now-- that is not how things ultimately came to pass-- but nevertheless.. the job is mine!

Podcasting The Business Week article makes it very clear that people are in search of how to profit off of blogs. Personally, I think the way businesses can profit is to deliver exceptional services and products and then let their brand incur the benefit. Remember how delightful it was when Land's End slipped a little something extra in the pacakge ( before they were contaminated by JC Penny)? Levenger's still does that and they wrap their packages like ... a birthday present-- beautiful with tissue and stickers. A lot of my eBay purchases get the same loving care. It matters. I think there really are good intentions and best wishes coming with that bundle!
